Earthquake Relief Effort

Immediately following the earthquakes of April 2015, the team in Kathmandu set out to provide emergency relief for the remote villages devastated by the earthquake. Shree and his team reached Fulkharka within 6 days of the first earthquake delivering rice, dahl, cooking oil, tarps and tents. This was no mean feat, given the chaos in Kathmandu and the road blockages caused by the earthquake. For 3 weeks the team continuously travelled the roads between Kathmandu and remote Dhading, using whatever transport they could find. In total, they delivered over 37 tons of rice and dahl, 500 litres of cooking oil, 224 tarps and tents, 53 whiteboards to schools and 140 mosquito nets.

Temporary school shelters were erected so kids could get back to some normalcy and the team started organising villagers to clear sites so new school building could begin.
